Fan convicted of slaying singer Selena

Article Abstract:

A fan and employee of Tejano singer Selena has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of the Mexican-American artist in Mar. 1995. Yolanda Saldivar was accused of embezzlement as the manager of a boutique owned by Selena's family and met with the singer in a motel on the day of the murder.

Du Pont heir held in wrestler's slaying

Article Abstract:

Du Pont allegedly fired three shots at David Schultz on Jan 26, 1996, killing the Olympic wrestler while Schultz' wife Nancy witnessed the murder. Police arrested Du Pont on Jan 28, 1995, after a 48-hour siege at the millionaire's Newtown Square, PA, estate.

Two ex-cops convicted in Detroit killing

Article Abstract:

Former police officers Nevers and Budzyn, both white, were convicted of second-degree murder in the beating of African American motorist Malice Green. Former officer Robert Lessnau was found not guilty of assault charges.
