Article Abstract:

The financial services industry has done well during the first six months of 1999, due to the booming US economy, and the industry is expected to do well in the second half of the year, also. The large degree of ownership of stocks, the solid housing market, and high consumer confidence are some of the reasons that this industry should do well, but this could change with higher interest rates. Investors need to be selective with stocks in this industry and make commitments only for the most timely.
