Firm tip on 'soft' rise; the Commonwealth Bank foresees little improvement for base metals, but is predicting rallies for wool, wheat, beef and cotton

Article Abstract:

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia predicts that base metal commodity prices will remain in the doldrums, but that prices for soft commodities will bounce back. The bank believes that the recent increase in the price of base metals may cause metal producers to reconsider closing marginal mines, which would impact the market on the supply side.
