Brett Godfrey, Chief Executive of Virgin Blue believes that Qantas, its arch competitor or Air New Zealand can never replicate their culture in any respect. The Virgin Blue stakes its claim to 24.5% of Australia's air passengers, which is termed as a fairly good number in competition with other airways. It is attempting to grow in order to produce cashflow.

Flight union dogfight

Article Abstract:

Geoff Dixon, Chief Executive of Qantas Airways is pushing for lower rates of pay for the Qantas Airways staff, pointing to the 16% wage reduction at the Singapore Airlines. However, some unions are willing to sign Virgin Blue members at lower rates of pay than Qantas Union members.
