Forecasting practices in accounting, law, and medical professions

Article Abstract:

A survey of forecasting practices of law, medical and accounting firms reveals that most demonstrate a belief in the value of forecasting but require some training in forecasting techniques. About 60% of the respondents practice forecasting and that they do so for the entire company. Most of the respondents however, practice non-quantitative forecasting specially in the medical and legal professions.

The struggling health care company Mayne seems to have made another blunder in its search for redemption by its recent acquisition of the injectable-vitamin business of aaiPharma. The response from brokers, analysts and institutions has been negative.

The integration of the supply chain with the forecasting process increases the accuracy of forecasts of Bayer Health Care Division. The integration is based on collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment process (CPFR).
