Article Abstract:
Statistics of some of the companies in the foreign telecommunications industry and their securities rankings as of December 31, 2004 are furnished. The recent cost-cutting measures and the weakness in dollar combined with demand for latest technology has left the industry with cash surpluses which it would be paying out as dividends. The long-term prospects for the industry however are not as rosy.
