Tasmanian Government's granting licence to the joint venture of Australia's Packer's Publishing and Broadcasting Limited and British's Betfair to operate a betting exchange is discussed. The other Australian racing companies are unhappy with the deal and are trying to lobby 10 independent Tasmania's Upper House to block the betting exchange legislation.
