Fraud on the Market

Article Abstract:

The fraud-on-the-market concept may rewrite some basic rules on bringing suits. This could open new areas of liability for corporations. This new legal concept is a weapon for share holders against corporate misstatements. Of course there are legitimate defenses against charges of fraud-on-the-market. Despite the potential financial liabilities it poses, fraud-on-the-market has aroused little concern in corporate markets as yet. This is probably because no case has yet resulted in major financial penalties.
