Free Internet access for the price of a demographic

Article Abstract:

Companies offering free Internet access are finding new ways to fund such offers. Free Net plans to require customers to provide demographic information so that it can post continually refreshed and non-closable web advertisements that are suited for individual users. Free Net will spend a total of Australian $30 million within the first year but anticipates breaking even on its investments immediately.
