Article Abstract:

A project office is set-up by an organization to facilitate and keep track of project management systems that are based on agreed-to standards, practices and procedures. It may be tasked to become the central management of a project or a program or merely to provide support services to all organization's projects. A project office should be established in any organization because it promotes growing professionalism among the employees, standardizes the tools and techniques used, and enhances the organizational design and labor productivity.

The divergent conclusions proposed have compelled George Washington University officials to establish a long-term study on the subject. Among the questions that will be addressed are the development of standards to measure success and failure and the determination of generic and specific reasons for project failure.
