Grooving in a new mood

Article Abstract:

The Australian music retailing industry by 2005 may be facing challenges of new marketing methods and competition from the Internet. Most music stores will be small, with kiosks with music-related websites and merchandise and areas for downloading albums or tracks from the Internet to create a customized disc. The retail industry is watching Sanity Music, the music store chain, which plans to devote only about 2-5% of its business to online retailing. Sanity has changed the image of music retailing with its innovative designs, understanding that shopping is still a social activity and 75% of music consumers buy on impulse.
