Happy with healthcare

Article Abstract:

A survey reveals that health maintenance organizations members are contented with the care that is provided to them. Majority of the respondents scored high on the satisfaction index used by the organization. In addition, most of the members contend that they are satisfied with their primary-care physian and medical specialists. A significant relationship between member satisfaction and physician salary was also determined in the survey.

Small business owners should choose health insurance policies that are affordable, suited to their employees' needs and supported by a distinguished insurance company. The characteristics of indemnity plans, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations and cafeteria benefit plans are discussed in order to help small business owners choose which health insurance policy is best for their employees.

Alaska's Happy Tale

Article Abstract:

Alaska Airlines (Seattle, Washington) automated its operations in 1983 with IBM's Displaywriters, a 4331 processor, a network of thirty-seven display terminals, and eight PC-XT personal computers. The airline wanted a system for decision support, office automation, and word processing. Employees use the system for revenue reports, text composition, statistical analyses, forecasting, and more.
