Havas to sell outdoor-ad unit to Decaux

Article Abstract:

France's JC Decaux is buying the outdooor-ad unit of Vivendi's Havas for $928.6 million (876 million euros). In the process Decaux inherits Mills & Allen which means it inherits ownership of almost 20% of Britain's billboards. Decaux's annual sales should nearly double as a result of the purchase. It also looks forward to inroads to the airport advertising market in the U.S. It sees this acquisition as a good fit with its core business of bus shelters, newsstands, traffic lights and public toilets, known as 'street furniture.'

McCann-Erickson to buy Publicist PMK

Article Abstract:

An announcement is expected that PMK, Hollywood's publicity firm to some of the biggest stars, has agreed to be acquired by McCann-Erickson, a unit of Interpublic Group. Purchase price is not being disclosed but estimates put it at about $7 million. The corporate clients that McCann-Erickson brings to the deal would hopefully get marketing access to celebrities; Hollywood celebs would, through PMK, get access to the larger corporate marketing budgets.
