Healthcare info. systems

Article Abstract:

The healthcare information systems (HIS) industry is poised to emerge from an economic slump that has curtailed investment activity, but the volatility of the market makes significant investment a risk-laden proposition. The potential for deriving long-term profit from the HIS industry is expected to remain strong throughout 2000-2002, but individual companies are more susceptible to financial whims and hardships and must be invested in with care.

Healthcare info. systems

Article Abstract:

Expenditures for information technology should increase from 2% to 10% of capital spending by health care providers from 1995 to the end of the decade. Companies which supply knowledge and understanding to health services, as well as technology, will do best. Stocks in this new industry group will be timely only for aggressive investors through 1998-2000, due to low price-stability and high price-earnings ratios.
