Article Abstract:

Production and shipments in the home appliance industry have declined some 2.6% since Apr 2000 and has left the industry with excess capacity. New product development has become more important and makers are offering new products in 2001. These stocks are not timely in 2001, but could gradually improve over the next three to five years.

The home appliance industry has not fared well in the year 2001 with pressure on both prices and margins. However, there are some new products and several companies have also restructured. Investors need to be cautious, as these stocks are not timely for 2001 and 2002.
