Hyperion on Web value: finance and accounting leverage the Internet

Article Abstract:

Hyperion Software is taking advantage of the intranet technology by offering a comprehensive Web-based application that guarantees timely, precise and secure information to its customers. The intranet facilitates improved information access and reporting by providing open range, wider reach and maximum return. Hyperion explains that its Web-enabled financial applications, particularly its Spiderman intranet product, offer four classes of capabilities: access, analysis, agents and actions. Access is focused on delivering information to the user, analysis is focused on enabling the user to further investigate the information, agents notify users about events that occur based on preset criteria and actions are about the implementation of business processes through the Internet. In combination, these classes help in exploiting the power of the Internet to support finance and accounting.
