Newbridge Capital, a subsidiary of Texas Pacific Corp., recently acquired Myer. It is expected that this acquisition is likely to improve the fortunes of Myer just like retail stores Debenhams, which was acquired by Baroness Retail Consortium. The consortium includes the Texas Pacific Group. The strategies that were adopted by Baroness Retail for reviving Debenhams are discussed.

Rubicon returns investor money

Article Abstract:

The factors responsible for failure of Rubicon Asset Management's Asia Fund are discussed. The fund invested monies in overseas individual stocks instead of investing in index. It suffered losses because of this strategy. Consequently, the fund was closed and the monies were returned to investors. In this context, dangers of investing in overseas futures markets are discussed.
