Insurance (life) industry

Article Abstract:

The life insurance industry might be interesting to conservative investors, since most of the companies are well-capitalized and secure financially, but have saturated their markets and have few prospects for growth. A recent ruling which will allow banks to sell annuities has the potential to decrease insurers market share, despite the fact that insurance companies have considerable presence in the market already. It is possible that one or two companies might be taken over in 1995.

Insurance (life) industry

Article Abstract:

Earnings were strong for the life insurance industry in the 1st qtr of 1995, and should advance 10% to 12% through 1996. Stable cash flows and revenues are characteristics of the life insurance industry and stocks are safe due to strong finances. Annuity companies will be the strongest performers in this industry through the years 1998-2000, with The Equitable having an excellent chance of doubling by then.
