Article Abstract:

A study on the influence of internal integration such as concurrent engineering practices on external integration such as customer integration, supplier product integration, and supplier process integration in product development is examined. Using contingency theory, contextual variables which, moderates linkages between integration strategy (external and internal) and performance are examined. And specifically this study considers whether uncertainty, equivocality, and platform development strategy change the relationships among internal integration, external integration and competitive capabilities.
