Article Abstract:
Columbia University's Center for the Study of Futures conducts over sixty studies annually on various aspects of the markets in futures and options. This center also offers eight courses for candidates in MBA programs. Recently, outstanding professors throughout the nation were asked to participate in nine research projects on the validity of stock index futures and their respective effect on the economy. Funding for the center is largely provided by various commodities exchanges. The University of Chicago's Center for Research in securities price is also involved in this type of research and developing data. The Futures Center publishes a free newsletter; the address is included.

Bringing Cycles and Technicals Together
Article Abstract:
Cycle analysis and traditional technical analysis are two techniques investors use to try to predict outcomes in the market. Cyclical and technical analysis of a price chart should be considered complementary rather than competing. Technical patterns can be analyzed as the length of a cycle changes. Used together the two can become an important tool for the investor.
