Labor-Business Battle in the EEC

Article Abstract:

Management and labor have squared off in the ten-nation European Common Market. A major issue in the dispute is worker representation on corporate boards; another issue is the requirement that companies consult employees before making major decisions. Management condemns these proposals because they would restrict freedom to manage. The trade unions feel that employee involvement is essential.
