Toiletries/cosmetics industry

Article Abstract:

Significant financial returns and year-to-year improvements were seen by the toiletries and cosmetic industry in 1998 and this is also expected to continue in 1999. The domestic US market has some constraints, such as private labels, value-conscious consumers, just-in-time inventory systems at outlets, and a lackluster retail sector, but several foreign markets have good prospects for the industry. These stocks are expected to outperform the market through 1999 and several with foreign exposure have good prospects through the years 2002-2004.
