Magid's hard lessons

Article Abstract:

Isador Magid, a property developer, is still working at the age of 86 despite having a personal fortune of 180 million dollars. He is considering retiring after the completion of his 22 million Australian dollar redevelopment of St. Margaret's Private Hospital in Sydney. Magid came to Australia in 1951 as a refugee from China where he was a wool merchant and he has been an important figure in Australian-Israeli relations.

BHP Billiton: now for the hard work

Issues are presented concerning the merger between steel maker BHP and mining company Billiton. The difficulties which need to be resolved during the merger of the accounting systems of the two companies are discussed.
