Article Abstract:

Balancing the budget, contracting rules, regulation of the legal system, product liability laws reform, paperwork reduction and law uniformity are critical in making the federal government responsive to business. Efforts must be made to raise voter participation.

The US needs an energy policy that encourages domestic production, efficient delivery and conservation. Congress must enact environmentally sound solutions to solid-waste and pollution problems. Unity is needed to strengthen the food regulatory system.

Laying a new foundation for economic growth

Economic growth requirements include tax changes, regulatory relief and strengthening the US financial system. Enactment of these measures would create more jobs, relieve the credit crunch and boost the savings rate.
