The Australian industries that will prosper in the 21st century will be those that profit from the applications of knowledge, and the Commonwealth Scientific Research and Development Organization (CSIRO) has been helping Australian companies with its applications of scientific and technology research. CSIRO's diverse research has helped various industries, including the gold and minerals mining industry, pharmaceuticals industry, wine industry, and cotton industry. CSIRO has a range of specialist skills and uses realistic, rather than ideological, applications of its research.
