Maritime industry

Article Abstract:

Analysts expect the maritime industry to show improved earnings, but factors including overcapacity hurt prospects for the containership market. World trade will probably grow within the long term, especially in the tanker market. Conservative investors should avoid the maritime industry because of fluctuating share prices, which may attract speculators.

Maritime industry

Article Abstract:

The maritime shipping industry has suffered from economic ups and downs in spite of increasing world trade. The Asian economic crisis has caused increased shipments to the US, but smaller cargoes on the return trip. Investors for the long haul may want to purchase these stocks, in spite of higher risk factors in the immediate future.
