Apple Computer releases new operating system for Web servers

Article Abstract:

Apple Computers says it will make public parts of the code written for its new operating system called Mac OS X Server. Selling for only $499, it runs on Apple servers that host Web sites and LANs. The company wants its product to be improved by programmers who will have to make any improvements public. Another version of the operating system for Mac desktops and notebooks will be out next year.
