Starbucks Corp. is expected to show record profits for Fiscal Year 1997, which ends September 28, 1997, and the coffeehouse's stocks are showing an above average appreciation potential to years 2000-2002. The company continues to expand both its products and its retail operations. The company plans to expand to 2,000 stores by the decade's end, including overseas operations; will add new distribution outlets and possibly market some of its products in grocery stores.

Model portfolios: recent developments

Article Abstract:

Three types of portfolios for investors with different attitudes and expectations from stocks are suggested. The first portfolio lists the stocks with above-average year-ahead price potential, the second portfolio lists the stocks for income and potential price appreciation and the third portfolio lists the stocks with long-term price growth potential. The suggested portfolios are based on the stock performances as per data available as of September 30, 2005.
