Valuation of R&D real American sequential exchange options
Article Abstract:
Modeling research and development using real American sequential exchange option values gives an insight into general research and development budget and allocation issues. An investigation of e-commerce research and development indicates that the aggregate initial budget is not justified.

A gene to drug venture: Poisson options analysis

A Poisson real option model of a gene-to-drug venture is presented. It is suggested that real option models could be appropriate for both general and specific gene discovery programmes in drug development.

A technologically-oriented approach to the generation and ex-ante assessment of technologies promotes active participation among technologists in the ex-ante economic analysis of their R&D. The model is based on morphological analysis, wherein a production process is defined as a battery of tasks which can be done using one or more alternative techniques.
