Issues concerning international trade among those countries that have signed the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) are examined. Topics include US concerns regarding a Dutch company's plan to acquire the Silicon Valley Group, which produces technology related to national security; Brazil's concerns for negotiating a Free Trade Area of the Americas treaty; the manner in which labor and environmental issues relate to the US fast track trade agreements debate; and a federal appeals court's upholding of the validity of NAFTA, which was challenged by the United Steelworkers of America.
