New strategy, wrong managers? What you need to know about career streams

Article Abstract:

The jungle gym perspective was regarded as the best approach to career management. Jungle gym involves developing competencies required to succeed in a highly competitive environment. However, managerial careers are also affected by various factors, two of which are organizational structure and career growth. Furthermore, it was acknowledged that there is a current pandemonium in careers and career opportunities as a result of destabilizing relationships between people and organizations.

Career pandemonium: realigning organizations and individuals

Article Abstract:

Internal changes in organizations are disrupting the career paths and opportunities of employees. Organizations must realize that traditional concepts about careers should not be abandoned in favor of newer concepts since this only undermines their relationship with employees. Instead, a pluralistic strategy that combines both old and new career concepts should be developed to address the needs of the organization and its people.
