Germany's Constitutional Court ruled Jun 23, 1993, that Chancellor Helmut Kohl's decision to send 300 German soldiers to Somalia as part of the UN peacekeeping mission was legal. The Social Democratic Party brought the suit because the the UN's role in Somalia is no longer peaceful.
