Article Abstract:

Newspaper industry stocks are still attractive to some investors who see lowered paper costs inducive to greater cash flow but even enthusiastic investors should weigh the good factors against the industry's history of inadequate profits, the need to increase prices to compensate for slackened sales, and the high prices asked for many stocks. Best bets for investment would be with newspapers that are diversifying and acquiring television stations and other media.
