No wages madness

Article Abstract:

The growth of wages in various sectors in recent times is discussed. The prospects of wage increases and corresponding inflationary trends are analyzed. It is concluded that wage increases are not likely to be as high in all the sectors as contemplated by the Reserve Bank and will remain pretty much range bound.

Room for a rate cut

Article Abstract:

The Reserve Bank of Australia needs to set interest rates consistent with expected inflation, domestic developments and global conditions. The factors are conflicting as most domestic signals point to higher rates, while most global signals and the inflation outlook, point to lower rates.

The RBA's credit crusade

Article Abstract:

Reserve Bank of Australia has increased its interest rates even though there is no real threat to its inflation target. Leading economists suggests that the aim for rate rises is the bank's determination to curb the growth in borrowing and the rise in property prices.
