Best-selling products in any industry are not necessarily the best-of-breed, and the same is true for the information technology industry. In order to motivate Internet access-free homes to get connected, companies such as Sony and Microsoft are choosing to push a technology other than the personal computer, namely games consoles such as the Sony PlayStation 2.
