Office equipment & supplies industry

Article Abstract:

Prospects for the office equipment and supplies industry for 1999 and beyond are good due to product innovations and the successful introduction of these new products. Technology convergence, service expansion, consolidation, and the opening of new stores has also helped the retail sector of the industry to expand in 1998, but laser printers are contributing to the decline of the business forms area. Investors need to focus on those stocks which have strong industry leadership positions and are timely.

Office equipment & supplies industry

Article Abstract:

There have been double-digit earnings gains at several office equipment manufacturers due to increased demand for high-end equipment and other factors. The use of laser printers has led to a shipment decline of business forms which have hurt the earnings of some forms makers, but the three leading office retailers are thriving. Timely stocks that are market share leaders need to be the focus of investors in the office supplies industry.

Office equipment & supplies industry

Article Abstract:

New products and enhancements, along with demand for high tech equipment, are creating strong earnings for office systems suppliers. Demand for printed forms is decreasing with use of electronic data interchange and advances in copiers and printers. Marketing, discount prices, and expansion are factors in the increased market share of office superstores. Investors must concentrate on business leaders for stock growth.
