Oil's new shocks

Article Abstract:

The adverse effects of the rising oil prices on the economies all over the world are discussed. However, the impact was little more than a whine because of the falling dollar, globalization and reduction of interest rates by the central banks to prevent prolonged deflationary conditions. The trends are about to reverse with the deflationary pressures having declined and the demand for oil continuing to rise in countries like India and China.

Job opportunities for unskilled workers are declining as automation reduces the need for physical work.The world is becoming knowledge-intensive and not labor, material or energy intensive as the importance of knowledge work is rising with 1.8 million new jobs created in the past ten years in the Australian labor market, mostly highly skilled and better paid.
