Ordiorne counts on quirky youth market

Article Abstract:

Although billings at San Francisco, CA-based ad agency Odiorne Wilde Narraway and Partners are down from $80 million in 2000 to $60 million in 2001, Pres. Jeff Odiorne has plans to survive the dot-com blowout. The agency operates a Web site called DearTimmy.com, a Dear Abby parody, which attracts young people who are then used by the agency for market research. The company has landed accounts for video games and alcoholic beverages and other products that appeal to the 18-35 year-old consumers that the agency is targeting.

Comcast's bid may bolster AT&T's brand

Article Abstract:

If Comcast's bid for AT&T Broadband goes through, several advertising agencies will be affected. Currently Comcast works with Red Tettemer in Narberth, Pennsylvania, among others. AT&T works with WPP Group's Young & Rubicam and the broadband unit uses Havas Advertising's Jordan McGrath Case & Partners. AT&T feels confident about its branding startegies, but there is disagreement on that score from others in the marketing arena.
