In a period when pop music is strong, consumers in the 8 to 12 age group are making an impact and proving their power in the pop world. Pre-teens know about music because of their access to the internet, they have the financial resources, and they know what they want, and retailers are tailoring their businesses accordingly.

Gudinski is back for a second act
