Precision instrument industry

Article Abstract:

Precision instrument industry shipments increased 7% for the 3rd qtr of 1997, nearly double for the same period in 1996, and growth is expected for the remainder of 1997 and 1998, also. Several companies in this industry have good earnings potential for the next three to five years, and diversity has become a market factor. These stocks, however, are not for conservative investors in 1998, as sales and profits will be more modest than in 1997.

Precision instrument industry

Article Abstract:

Shipments in the precision instrument industry rose 8% for the three months that ended in Dec 1997, and the prospects for the industry are optimistic for 1998 as well. The need for testing and measurement instruments globally will help the industry achieve growth through the years 2001 to 2003, also. Sales are likely to increase in 1998, but investors need to take industry cycles into mind prior to selecting stocks.
