Project management descriptors

Article Abstract:

The task of describing the contents of project management (PM) literature to make retrieval more reliable was explored by refining a set of descriptors related to PM which were derived from more than 2,000 titles in the subject. A hierarchy of specialized descriptors was drawn from an alphabetical list of terms that were chosen for their accuracy in describing the content of the material. The resulting terms were verified against current reference sources. Benefits, areas for further study and examples descriptors and indexing are included.

The impact of illiquidity and uncertainty on the multiperiod project investment decision process

Article Abstract:

The use of discounted cash flow (DCF) techniques is usually a major source of error in the decision-making process of US managers. Unlike European and Japanese managers who focus on market share and research and development, US managers evaluate long-term investment projects through the DCF techniques. However, estimates of project profitability which exclude a liquidity risk adjustment may overestimate the net present value of investment projects.
