Article Abstract:

New Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules have significantly affected annual shareholder proposals in 1984 has declined by almost one-third overall. Pre-meeting negotiations have also cut the number of shareholder proposals. Institutional holders hold a great deal of influence over whether a takeover bid is rejected or accepted. Many institutions often routinely vote against anything that interferes with the value of the stock they hold for clients, that is, any restrictions of shareholders' rights or conditions of sales.

Article Abstract:

In order to pay for track repairs, one commuter railraod rents cars to interested parties. These parties rent space during the peak morning commuter time to provide lectures on different investment vehicles. The lectures are advertised as a way to make the commute time more productive.
