Retail building supply industry

Article Abstract:

Retail building supply stores have become a popular retail industry sector due to increased public awareness and the need of many homeowners for the for home improvement products. The dependence of many of these retailers upon the homebuilding industry for much of their business has also been reduced and the warehouse superstores, such as Home Depot, have become more important. Stocks of proven winners, such as Lowe's Companies Inc and Home Depot Inc, are the best for investors to investigate.

Retail building supply industry

Article Abstract:

Sales and earnings were poor for the retail building supply industry in 1995, due in large part to lack of consumer confidence. There should be higher demand for building materials, however, with lower interest rates giving homebuilding a boost. Retail chains and individual stores have become larger, and a number of chains are specializing. Several stocks are timely for 1996, and have three to five year investment potential.
