Article Abstract:

Luna Glow, an Australian company manufacturing exit signs that glow in the dark, could not get nod from the Standards Australia as it does not meet the standard AS2293. The standard says that the signs should glow for a minimum of two hours in the dark and be visible from 24 meters. The business finally achieved international approval and started exporting to U.S.

If the commercialization of the invention is not likely to yield good profits, the cost of obtaining patent is likely to become a burden on the inventors. In view of this fact, the inventors must consider the invention vis-a-vis the intellectual property protection costs before filing patent applications.
