Seizing the Moment

Article Abstract:

Telecommunications technology developments can bring career opportunities to telecommunications' managers. These managers can help their companies maintain escalating telecommunications costs. The divestiture of American Telephone and Telegraph Co. (AT&T) has affected traditional evaluation of phone services for companies. The telecommunications manager cannot fully exploit his position because no one yet knows where AT&T is headed. The divestiture should help the telecommunications manager's career development in the long run. The managers will be able to create improved pricing arrangements, and competitive, sophisticated products.
