Semiconductor industry

Article Abstract:

A number of semiconductor industry companies have been reporting that their trend towards profitability has been moving upward which, while generally a positive indicator, means that some of these companies are reporting lesser losses than previously. However, there are a sufficient number of innovative semiconductor industry companies who should interest short-term investors. The volatility of the industry might be a deterrent to long-term investors unless they examine individual companies carefully.

Semiconductor industry

Article Abstract:

Investors have become nervous about semiconductor and other technology stocks with their high price/earnings ratios, market volatility, and earnings evaluations. The semiconductor industry also includes products that are unprofitable, such as dynamic random access memory devices, and that are profitable, such as microprocessors. Investors need to be cautious, however, as industry earnings and valuation expectations can be overly optimistic.
