Seven development themes for the 21st century

Article Abstract:

Seven themes which have been identified by AMED are: the humanizing of work; globalisation; stakeholders and management; sustainability; high performance; working across boundaries; and ethics in organisational life and development. The pattern of work is changing and developers need to ensure that people are prepared for these changes. They must make sure that globalisation does not concentrate power in the hands of a few multinational companies. Many companies will aim for international environmental management standards ISO 14000.

Listening and doing something about customer complaints is one way for the industry to improve relations with consumers. Housing manufacturers should learn how to handle customers complaints. Moreover, customer complaints should be encouraged so that manufacturers can design goods and services that meet their customers' needs.
