Shareholders discuss challenges facing Digital

Article Abstract:

DEC shareholders gathered in Manhattan to analyze the company's prospects. Approximately 35% to 40% of DEC's shareholders attended or listen over the telephone. Providence Capital's Pres, Herbert Denton, is the man that organized the meeting. He is polling the attendants to determine if they would be willing to sign a letter to the nominating committee of DEC's board. The letter asks the board to have Providence suggest candidates for the three empty board seats. Over half of DEC's board is over 70 which is causing some concern amongst its shareholders. A DEC spokesman quickly rejected the idea claiming age is not a bases for judging a person's effectiveness. DEC stock was down 12.5 cents to $37.375 a share.
