Simware expects net will be much higher due to Salvo product

Article Abstract:

Simware Inc. is expecting to post a major increase in its earnings for fiscal 1999 due to its new Salvo product. The company had reported a series of losses before it posted a moderate profit for the fiscal 1998 second-half. Some analysts are predicting that Simware will post up to 30 Canadian cents (US 20.6 cents) a share in earnings for fiscal 1999. Simware produces connectivity software.

SAP says pretax net hurt by costs, Asia: stock declines 5.6%

SAP AG announced that its pretax profit for the second-quarter of 1998 would be impacted by costs connected with its new incentive program for employees and by the economic troubles in Asia. SAP is a closely watched manufacturer of computer software based in Germany. The company said that its pretax profit for the first-half of 1998 increased by 40% compared to the same period in 1997.

Orange PLC expects sales rise; will offer mobile-services deals

Article Abstract:

Orange PLC predicted that its sales will increase up to 2003 due to strong consumer demand. The company said that subscriber growth for the year ending on May 30, 1998 was 20%. Orange, a mobile-phone company based in the UK, also predicted market penetration growth of over 50% by the year 2004. The company's current rate is 16%. Orange announced it will reduce off-peak tariffs by 66%.
