A small Seattle firm is taking a chance on about a half inch of space on computer desktop screens, the screen where Microsoft's Windows dominates, the first screen a user sees after turning on and booting up. The firm is called Pixel Company and the space is referred to as the overscan area, around the edges of the desktop. The company is talking to several online sites for inclusion on the "My Space" control bar created by Pixel. Packard Bell is the first large computer maker that will install the software.
